Choosing A Daycare
Choosing a Daycare can be a daunting task. It is
easier said
than done. Even though Daycare United States
has made it
very easy for you, the parent, to search for Day
Care / Child Care in your city/town,
we still recommend that you do further research
before you make
the final decision of choosing a daycare / child
care for your little ones.
Once you determine that the location of a day
care / child care is suitable
to you and you feel like placing your child in
the environment, the first thing
we recommend is visiting the day care center or
day care home. Observe the
setting, the toys, and safety measures
implemented in the facility. Review the
child care policy (if possible), how sick
children are handled, and the kind
of meals and snacks served (if any) to children.
Reference checks are also
highly recommended. Ask questions from previous
and current parents that
have placed their children in the day care /
child care you are considering.
It is also helpful to inquire about the
qualifications of the child care provider(s).
Pursuing
child care training or child development
training on an ongoing basis, having CPR and
First Aid certifications, and
obtaining accreditations such as NAEYC (National
Association For The Education Of
Young Children), CDA (Child Development
Associate) or NAFCC (National Association for
Family Child Care) are indications of providers'
commitment to the safety and well being of the
children in their care.
Once you choose a day care / child care, foster
an on going quality relationship with your
child's care provider. Partner with
the provider and show interest in the things
that will benefit you, your child, and the
provider alike.
